I attended a fascinating event this Tuesday, entitled “Global Poverty and ICTs-what Cambridge can do to change the world’ : http://ict4d.eventbrite.com/. It was a really fascinating event, which highlighted the need to focus our efforts to ensure that the poorest reap the benefits of technological innovation (predominantly through mobile technology) and ensure that genuinely participatory methodologies are adopted.
Guest speakers included:
David Edelstein from The Grameen Foundation
Centre for Commonwealth Education, University of Cambridge
Centre for Governance and Human Rights, University of Cambridge
